Set Up 8K IPTV on LG Smart TV

LG smart TVs running webOS

LG smart TVs use webOS and the LG Content Store. Here is how to install a player there and sign in to 8K IPTV Streaming.

Have ready: the login we sent you, the Magic Remote or standard remote and a network connection. No plan yet? See the prices.

1. Update webOS

Go to Settings > All Settings > Support > Software Update (on some models General > About This TV) and install any update.

2. Install a player from the LG Content Store

  1. Press the Home button and open LG Content Store (or Apps on newer models).
  2. Search for an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U.
  3. Select Install, then Launch.

The apps offered depend on your region and webOS version. Several LG players link your playlist through their website using the device ID shown on screen; some charge a fee to their developer.

3. Sign in

  1. If the app shows a device ID or MAC address, send it to us and we will add your 8K IPTV Streaming playlist.
  2. Otherwise choose Xtream Codes or M3U and type your details carefully.
  3. Restart the app once so the full channel list and guide load.

4. Picture and network tips

  • Use Cinema or Filmmaker Mode for films, Sports for live matches if you prefer.
  • Plug in a network cable where you can. Wi-Fi far from the router is the most common reason for buffering on TVs.
  • LG 8K models upscale HD and 4K streams; the picture can look sharper, but it is not native 8K.

LG questions

Does the app need to stay open to keep my login?

No. Once saved, the player remembers your playlist until you remove it or the app is reset.

Streams were fine and now buffer.

Switch the TV fully off at the wall for a minute and restart the router. Then see our buffering fixes.
